With divorce rates only in the rise, and with Southern California leading the nation in divorce rates, now more than ever professionals need the skills to assist families dealing with divorce. The State Bar Family Law Section on CDR/ADR (South) is a committed group of attorneys, mental health professionals, and divorce financial planners who work collaboratively to promote the use and study of consensual dispute resolution (CDR) in family law conflicts. The parties that often go overlooked in the divorce process are the children. The State Bar Family Law Section believes that protecting children’s best interests should guide the practice of family law, the work of divorce professionals, and the family court system, and that the availability and the use of CDR processes will promote these goals.
